The Pipe Smoker's Tobacco Book Review

This isn't so much of a book as a pamphlet. It comes across almost as an academic thesis or government-style agriculture report, but if you look past that aspect you can gain some scientific knowledge about tobacco that is not readily found in most pipe or cigar books. As a relatively new pipe smoker, I bought the book to gain some insight into the tobacco composing the various blends I was trying and those available in the market. It was very helpful in that regard. I found that it gave me the ability to speak more intelligently to my tobacconist about the blends and to actually know more than some people working in other retail tobacco shops who were just there selling whatever they had. Most of the information in the book is available on websites such as Tobacco University, but this puts it all under one cover. If you don't care about what you are smoking and just like to try new things this is probably beyond what you want to know so save your money. However, if you want to understand the composition and origin of tobaccos you enjoy or will try in the future, then this will definitely benefit you. If nothing else it is a nice addition to a pipe or cigar smoker's library.
