The Last Generation of Chainsmokers Review
Haunting and disturbing. Vivid, yet bleary. This tale of two walking wounded has that sneaky-behind-your-back type impact.I secretly wanted them to be each other's saviour, with each other, and at other times--in spite of each other.
It's difficult to talk about this book without coming off as an arm chair therapist---intonating pompousity where it does not exist.
Tight, gritty, excellent portrayal of co-dependence of the '90s hepcats, filling voids in all the wrong places with all the wrong devices, but never, ever giving up hope.
Only drawback to me was over abundance of the 'thoughts in free-fall rabid word association stream of consciousness' that shot its wad by page three. Less is more.
In any event, I am looking forward to 'Slaughter and Possibility' by Mr. Uys.
