Old Smokey Electric Smoker Replacement Heating Element Review
This element is the heart of my home made smoker and I needed the hottest element I could find. I've checked out a couple of other elements on here and they did have a little more power than this one. This one happens to be 1250w at 120v. The only reason why I stuck with this 'lower' wattage unit is because of the quality. I've been seeing some bad reviews on the more powerful units, mostly about them failing after a short time. I assume maybe because they are just a little too hot. Anyway my smoker is about 2 times bigger than this element was designed for. But I ended up insulating my smoker and it can easily reach over 300 degrees no problem. I won't ever use it over 250F so there shouldn't be a problem. I hope this one will last me a good while unlike the others I hear about. I've heard some good reviews about this one and I'm just adding another good one.
